Stocks are defined as company shares regarding ownership. If you own stocks in a company, your stocks are used as legal vehicles to claim certain percentages of the particular company’s assets and profits. Of course, the percentages of assets and profits you can claim from the company are dependent on the stocks you own in the company. You should also keep in mind that stocks, shares, and equity all mean the same thing when it comes to the stock market.

The stock market is a formal trading house for companies, banks, government institutions, and various stock traders qualified as members of the stock market in a particular country, sector, or even in a global platform. A stock market monitors constant changes to the stock rates or prices of various companies and institutions across the particular regional territory where stock market members operate. The stock market is a formal exchange or clearing house wherein marketing and purchasing various member company shares can be conducted by qualified members of the stock market of the particular region where the said members operate.
